Me and my wife went to Singapore on a trip. We planned our trip in such a way that we spend minimum on hotels and travelling and spend more on the places to visit there.
Accommodation – Accommodation isn’t cheap in Singapore. We stayed in 81Dickson which was in a location called Little india(around 10kms from Airport). As my wife is vegetarian, we got lot of places to eat in that area.
Food – There are plenty of low-cost eateries around Singapore with street stalls typically selling food for less than 6 SGD per meal. Chinese and Indian food is usually around 8-9 SGD per meal. Most casual restaurants are around 20 SGD and after that, the sky is the limit. Also price is one bottle of water will cost you around 1 SGD to 2 SGD.
Transportation – There are plenty of buses and taxis around Singapore, but the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) runs the length and breadth of the country. MRT tickets vary in price, as they are based on the distance traveled, but generally cost around 4 SGD.
Money Saving Tips – Take Public transit or walk whenever possible. Eat cheap at places like little India
