The West Coast’s first contemporary art museum opened its doors in 1935. In 2016, it opened an expansion that tripled the museum’s original size, giving it the space to house the works of more than 3,000 artists, from paintings to audiovisual art. Warhol (and his Triple Elvis), Francis Bacon and Jackson Pollock are some of the names featured in the galleries.
