Saint Basil’s CathedralThe colour of Red Square
It’s hard to think of Moscow without imagining this orthodox church, the quintessential icon of the city. It has a central tower resembling a pineapple and nine chapels, each with a brightly coloured, onion-shaped dome. The temple owes its name to the seer who predicted the death of Ivan the Terrible’s son, and whose remains are buried here. Don’t miss the sixteenth-century murals.
