Novodevichy CemeteryBurial ground of great figures
Part of the Novodevichy Convent complex, it dates from the 16th century. The burial ground is where some of the most prominant Russian figures are interred, among them, Gogol, Chekov, Tolstoy, Kropotkin, Khrushchev and Boris Yeltsin. Many of the tombs have a sculpture that depicts the profession of its occupant.
