Monument to the Conquerors of SpaceGlorification of cosmonautics
This impressive obelisk is 107 metres tall and has an incline of 77°. It commemorates the launch of Sputnik I, the first space satellite, in 1957. The monument represents a rising rocket on its journey into space. At the base is the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, a project that didn’t come to light until 1981, two days before the 20th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s historic flight.
