This was Moscow’s first food emporium in 1901 and, during the Soviet era, the main supermarket of the USSR. More than a century later, the luxurious Baroque Revival décor remains intact: sumptuous display cases and huge chandeliers hanging over the counters. Eliseevsky has a mind-blowing range of gourmet products like salted preserves, oils, wines, cold cuts, mushrooms... and it’s the ideal place for buying caviar (always in stock) and Kamchatka crab.
