Bolshoi TheatreThe temple of dance
One of the world’s sacred temples of dance and opera. Shortly after it was built, in 1853, part of the structure was lost in a huge fire. The Second World War wreaked further damage. It underwent an exhaustive renovation and was reopened in 2011. Highlights are the Neoclassical shapes and sumptuous interior, although the greatest thing about the Bolshoi are the dance and opera performances.
