How can I get to Gran Canaria?
By plane to Gran Canaria Airport (LPA). By boat, from Huelva or Cádiz.
How can I get from the airport to the centre?
Global runs a bus service. If you’re staying in the capital of Gran Canaria, Las Palmas, you will take Line 60. If you’re on the south of the island, use Line 5.
When is the best time to travel?
Any time of the year is good. The average temperature between May and September varies between 26ºC and 28ºC, and between October and April, from 16ºC to 21ºC.
How can I get around the island?
For getting around the centre you can use the local buses, called guaguas. There is also a public transport service to the rural areas, but the schedule is rather limited. The best option is to rent a car, which is quite economical.
Which are the best areas to find accomodation?
If you’re staying in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria, the best place is along Las Canteras beach. You’ll find a wide variety of hotels on the south of the island. Or you could stay in a cottage in one of the villages on the island.
Where can I change money?
The airport is the fastest place to change money, but all the towns on the island have exchange houses.
Is tipping required?
No, it’s entirely up to you. There is no specific tipping amount. It’s usual to leave a tip in restaurants and hotels.

Is smoking allowed in restaurants and bars?
You can smoke if there is an outdoor terrace or a space adapted for smoking. Never inside.
