Trinity College LibraryWalking among books
The Old Library is the jewel in the crown of Trinity College. Built in the early 18th century, it boasts an impressive central hall with two long aisles of shelves that hold over 200,000 books. The barrel vault, which wasn’t added until a century later, bestows even more grandeur upon this place. The library’s finest treasure is the Book of Kells, an extremely valuable 9th-century manuscript.
