NewgrangeA mystery dating back five millennia
Five thousand years. This is the age of the Brú na Bóinne archaeological complex in the Boyne Valley. It includes three passage tombs: Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, the first being the most famous. To get to it you'll have to go through the visitors centre first. The best time of year to visit is at the winter solstice, as every 21 December, at dawn, sunlight floods these funerary monuments in a magical and mysterious way.
