GlendaloughThe valley of two lakes
Nestled amongst the Wicklow mountains, Glendalough boasts one of Ireland’s most stunning landscapes. Known as the valley of two lakes, the higher lake is nature at its purest, while the lower lake is home to St. Kevin's monastery. It is named after a young hermit monk who came to the valley in 498. Legend has it that he performed miracles and became so famous that the place quickly became a centre for Christian pilgrimage.
