Christ Church CathedralAn underground visit
Thanks to extensive restoration work carried out in the 19th century, the cathedral today is a truly magnificent sight. The original building dates back to the 12th century (there was an earlier version made of wood) and during the Reformation period it passed into the hands of the Protestant Church. It is one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. If you decide to pay it a visit, make sure to check out its medieval crypt. Not only is it one of the biggest in Ireland, but it is also the Irish capital’s oldest structure.
