Overview: Bangkok has a fine array of attractions and places to visit that will appeal to any tourist .It is Thailand's largest city and its cultural and spiritual home, with more temples and palaces than any other, along with incredible displays of wealth . Its main claim to fame is its collection of beautiful temples, of which there are more than 400 in the city, with the Grand Palace complex being particularly special. Also known as the City of Angels (Krung Thep), it is entirely appropriate that Bangkok should have two names. Firstly there is the modern, cosmopolitan side, with its Skytrain zipping people between swanky malls, cinema multiplexes, world-class restaurants, glitzy clubs and some of the world's best hotels .But it's the ancient city and Thai hospitality, the heart and soul of the country, which really sets Bangkok apart.
Places to see :
  • Wats (local name) - Thailand has over 26,000 temples which are also called wats and a living pilgrimage spot and tourist attraction with thousands of locals visiting daily to make merit, burn insense sticks, and ask for luck in the coming year
  • Wat Traimit- the temple of the Golden Buddha. This statue is made from solid Gold weighing 5.5 tons and is a marvel much talked about
  • Chinatown - a treat by itself the next stop will be the temple of the reclining Buddha
  • Wat Pho - next door to the Grand Palace and has the distinction of being the largest temple in town. There are Buddha statues in here that, include one that is massive and gold-plated which is the 160-foot long, 60-foot high Reclining Buddha. It is the main sight in here and features mother-of-pearl soles

Things to do:
  • Ride a  tuk-tuk taxi
  • Shopping here is recommended by most travelers and  the city is loaded with malls, arcades, swanky department stores and street and floating markets, so that one can virtually shop from dawn to dusk
  • Eat - Food goes from cheap and tasty noodles and rice dishes from street vendors up to high class dining in five-star hotels, and everything that lies in between. Thai food is obviously the big eat, although it is not hard to find any type of cuisine here. In addition, most malls come with a generous supply of coffee shops, food courts and burger joints
  • Visit a night market- Bangkok is a 24-hour city where night markets are the buzz of the town

Phuket, one of Thailand's most iconic travel destinations and home to an amazing array of activities, sights and events.
